Information for local residents

From December 3 through December 27, 2026, the tenth edition of Christmas Village Amsterdam will take place at Museumplein. Christmas Village is an atmospheric Christmas market for all ages, featuring winter charm, Christmas gifts, food and drinks, fashion, and various other stalls. Expected visitor numbers

We expect an average of 5,000 to 10,000 visitors per day. Crowd levels may vary by day. It may be busier on weekends and during the holidays than on weekdays.

Setup and teardown

The setup for Christmas Village Amsterdam begins on November 15, 2026. This may cause temporary inconvenience in the area around Museumplein. We do our best to limit the disturbance to local residents as much as possible.
No streets or roads will be closed, and no traffic measures are required for the setup, the event, or the teardown.
Teardown begins immediately after the Christmas market ends on December 27, 2026, and will continue from December 28 through December 31, 2026.

Sound and music

There will be no amplified performances during the Christmas market.
However, ambient music will be played via speakers on the premises. Additionally, a cappella choirs may walk around; these choirs do not use amplification.
We are mindful of the surrounding area and strive to minimize noise disturbance for local residents as much as possible.
